From the time she was a young child, Catherine of Siena sought God ceaselessly in both contemplation and action. By the time she was twenty-one, she had experienced her mystical "marriage" to Christ, and had thrown herself tirelessly into ministering to the poor and the sick. Throughout her active ministry, Catherine pursued eternal Truth through prayer, reading, and ecstatic experiences.
While in a trance, Catherine dictated The Dialogues—presented here in contemporary English. In this intense and searching work, the saint of Siena offers up petitions to God, filling her conversation with instruction on discernment, true and false spiritual emotion, obedience, and truth, and revealing her famous image of Christ as the Bridge. Catherine's brilliant insights into the nature of the spiritual life and the character of the Church will motivate contemporary Christians to unite a life of prayer with a life of action.

This book moved my faith forward by leaps. It is one of my most cherished titles in my religious collection. Some of my collection are instructional and some are academic (although I am no theologian); however, some are written by the saints, who immediately show how touched they are by God.St Catherine dictates her conversation with God the Father. It is amazing how one can read paragraphs of explanation from people(who may even be professors of theology) and yet, when God speaks, a simple sentence gives greater insight than the paragraphs a person can write. A few books demonstrate this: "Imitation of Christ" is one, and "Little Talks with God" is another.
In the book, God explains to Catherine some of the meaning behind scripture and His plan for salvation. The depth of information is great. Although nothing was added to revelation, the insights I gained made scripture come alive for me.
Prior to reading this book, I envisioned God as Jesus. Following reading it, my scope of God expanded to include God the Father. It made me understand the Father better.

Little Talks with God Paraclete Essentials edition by Saint Catherine of Sienna Henry L Carrigan Jon Sweeney Algar Thorold Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Questionable insights from a Catholic Nunn from hundreds of years ago. This woman is still venerated by Catholics around the world and so there are some interesting insights into Catholicism.
I could not put this book down. I read it and read it over again. To be able to listen to the intimate conversation between God and one of his children is priceless.
Nice
It's takes a while to read this book but suffice it to say I'm so happy I have it and I am enjoying it. It's a spiritual classic.
